Refreshing Grapefruit “Tonic”

Renders roughly 1-2 drinks

  • Juice of 1 large grapefruit

  • Water or Seltzer Water

  • Ice cubes

  • Honey

  • Optional: Apple cider vinegar

Cut skin and white pith off the outside of a grapefruit, being careful not to cut off too much of the inside fruit with it. Over a bowl, to catch all the juices, supreme the fruit following the same technique as in the previous recipe, placing finished supremes into a separate bowl. After cutting out all your citrus, squeeze all the juice out of what remains of your empty grapefruit, combining it with all the liquid you accumulated while cutting (trust me, there’s lots of juice left in there!). Pour through a fine mesh strainer to remove all seeds and solids, or use a spoon to remove seeds or large pieces of fruit. In a mason jar, cocktail shaker or other container that has a lid, mix equal parts water and grapefruit juice. Add ice cubes, a splash of apple cider vinegar if you want a little extra kick, and a drizzle of honey, shake, shake, shake, add more ice and enjoy! If you use seltzer, do not shake with other ingredients. Simply pour shaken ingredients over ice and seltzer. This also goes great with your spirit of choice for all those virtual happy hours!
