Cucumber Coolade

I won’t apologize for my affinity of drinking out of Mason jars.

There’s something simply pleasurable about the feeling of thick, cold glass in your hand on a warm summer evening. It just so happens that this cucumber coolade fits right in with the Mason jar trend. A simple, fast drink that you can enjoy with or without the addition of spirits.

Cucumber Coolade

Renders roughly 1-2 drinks

  • Cucumber

  • Fresh mint

  • Sugar

  • Lemon

  • Lime

  • Water or Seltzer

  • Ice

  • COCKTAIL OPTION: Add 1 - 2oz Gin, or your spirit of choice

In a mason jar, cocktail shaker or other container with a lid, add a palm full of fresh, clean mint leaves and a pinch of granulated sugar. Muddle well, pressing down. Add fresh cucumber rounds. Through a fine mesh strainer, squeeze ½ lemon and ½ lime, making sure to catch seeds and solids. Top with water and lots of ice. Shake, shake, shake, add more ice and enjoy! If you use seltzer, do not shake with other ingredients. Simply pour shaken ingredients over ice and seltzer. This also goes great with gin or your spirit of choice for all those virtual happy hours!
